What happens when filmmaking meets immersive media? What new possibilities emerge when artists, filmmakers, writers, producers and technologists step outside their disciplines and start working together?

On 5 November, Scope and SHINE (South Holland Immersive Network & Ecosystem) bring together professionals from the film and immersive media sectors at Katoenhuis for Unframed, an afternoon dedicated to exploring new forms of storytelling, interdisciplinary collaboration and the practical realities of bringing ambitious projects to life.

The programme features a series of showcases offering a glimpse into emerging approaches to immersive storytelling. Discover The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, a new initiative exploring cinematic VR narratives around colonial histories; learn how René van Engelenburg of DROPSTUFF MEDIA transforms audiences into active participants in immersive experiences; and get a behind-the-scenes look at Ghost Towns, an ambitious mixed reality performance in development by Robin Coops, presented together with Floris Smit.

Beyond the creative possibilities, Unframed also addresses one of the biggest challenges of interdisciplinary production: funding. The panel discussion Show Me the Money explores opportunities for financing creative projects, both through traditional cultural funding and alternative models.

Looking to meet potential collaborators? The afternoon also includes 5 × 5 Speeddates, connecting filmmakers, artists, technical experts, writers and producers through a series of short conversations. Bring a project idea, a question or simply your curiosity, and stay for drinks to continue the conversations.

Whether you work in film, immersive media or somewhere in between, Unframed offers an opportunity to exchange ideas, expand your network and discover what becomes possible when different creative worlds come together.
