NOV | CIIIC IX Labs Launch Event
On 18 November, Katoenhuis hosts the official launch of the nationwide CIIIC IX Labs network. Discover five regional labs advancing immersive technologies in the Netherlands through presentations, practical demonstrations, a hackathon and opportunities to connect with the teams behind the labs.
NOV | Hackathon Immersive Tech 2026
From 16 to 18 November, Katoenhuis will host the Hackathon Immersive Tech 2026, bringing together students to explore the future of urban life through immersive technologies. On 18 November, visitors are invited to discover the students’ prototypes, take part in XR Play Day and connect with the immersive technology community during the CIIIC IX Labs Launch.
NOV | SHINE x Scope Meetup: Unframed – Where Film Meets Immersive Media
SHINE x Scope Meetup: Unframed brings together film and immersive media professionals at Katoenhuis for an afternoon of showcases, discussions and networking. The event explores new approaches to storytelling, creative collaborations and opportunities at the intersection of film and immersive technologies.
SEP | Book launch of Dit is AI by Ilyaz Nasrullah
On September 24th, Trouw columnist and podcast maker Ilyaz Nasrullah will present his first book Dit is AI. De valse belofte van kunstmatige intelligentie.

Conflux Festival returns to Katoenhuis with the exhibition under the theme "Tactics for Cultural Resistance".

Immersive Tech Week is moving to Katoenhuis. A leading international gathering for professionals working at the intersection of immersive technology, XR, spatial computing, performance, storytelling, and digital culture.
MAY | Noise by Club Gewalt
In this immersive performance opera, born from the urgency to learn to navigate a collapsing world, Club Gewalt asks itself the question: how can you retune your senses amidst the constant noise of information predicting the apocalypse? How do we give meaning to a future that is not overflowing with prosperity?
MAR | Katoenhuis Observatory: Cosmic Cabinet
During Rotterdam Art Week, Katoenhuis presents media art exhibition "Cosmic Cabinet" featuring works of Katoenhuis community artists Zalán Szakács, Studio den Haan, Nick Mansveld, and invited collaborator Narges Mohammadi.

DEC | SenseGlove launches its new exoskeleton glove
Our community member SenseGlove is introducing the SenseGlove R1, a new exoskeleton glove that will bring force-aware precision to dexterous robotic systems. Originally developed under the codename Project Rembrandt, a nod to the company’s Dutch heritage, the glove will enter the market under its final name, R1.

SEP I Time Tripping video installation @Open Monumentendag 2025
The Katoenhuis has known many identities: from cotton storage in the 1950s to rave parties in the 2000s, and now an Immersive Experience Hub at the intersection of technology, culture and new media. The artist and scenographer Philip Lüschen presents an AV projection presenting the multilayered history of the building.

AUG I Artist residency: HEARTSYNC by Nino Basilashvili
This summer, Katoenhuis in Rotterdam opens its doors to HEARTSYNC: an interactive installation that turns live heart rate data into a shared sensory experience. Through projection, sound, and breathing exercises, participants are invited not only to feel their own heartbeat but also to see the heartbeats of others, all synchronized in a single visual rhythm.
