This film installation explores spectatorship through mirror illusion in an urban setting, reimagining space and time within the flat surface of a two-dimensional image. Reflections disrupt the stability of the cityscape, producing shifting perspectives that challenge how viewers orient themselves within the frame. The work marks a pivotal moment in Mansveld’s practice, when an investigation of perception through film began to expand toward spatial thinking and immersive environments. What begins as a cinematic experiment with reflection and perspective becomes the foundation for a broader exploration of light, scenography, and the moving body in space—anticipating the installation-based direction that defines the artist’s practice today.
