In the first weeks of March, 20 students from the Immersive Design minor at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam were working on a large-scale immersive installation on the ground floor of Katoenhuis. During this 10-day residency, they were experimenting with the space, interdisciplinary collaboration, and various technologies. Through this process, they were deepening their understanding of immersive experiences—both in creating them and exploring their future possibilities. This residency is part of Katoenhuis’ Talent development program in which we actively support emerging talent.
On March 20th they exhibited their work and allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the world they have created themselves. From an underwater world with moving fish to an ocean floor and a beating heart where the rhythm of ebb and flow could be felt.
