This June, the Keile District and M4H transform into the beating heart of Rotterdam Architecture Month 2026 – a month-long exploration of circular futures, collective building, and material reuse ♻️
At Katoenhuis, we believe circularity, collectivity, reuse, and shared responsibility are essential for the future of cities and cultural production. As part of the wider Keile District ecosystem, we’re excited to see the area become a place where new ideas around collaboration, sustainability, and city-making can be tested and shared.
At the centre of the programme is a temporary Materials Depot: a flexible structure built from reused elements where discarded building materials gain a second life. More than a storage space, it becomes a meeting point for makers, residents, architects, designers, and builders – testing how a circular city could work in practice.
Nearby, the Keilepand presents The Power of Community, an exhibition exploring how collaboration and collective responsibility are key to circular urban development.
Throughout June, the district comes alive with workshops, markets, talks, tours, screenings, and public programmes across more than 40 locations in Rotterdam.
