Katoenhuis Rotterdam is looking for a hands-on, tech-savvy student to keep our cultural and event venue running like clockwork. Are you that practical problem-solver: always ready to roll up your sleeves, proactive, and eager to make sure everything behind the scenes works flawlessly?
You’ll be part of our small, dedicated team, making sure our events, exhibitions, and creative spaces are set up and maintained to the highest standard. From AV and lighting to general building upkeep, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist with event setups and breakdowns: from AV to furniture layout
Handle day-to-day technical maintenance of lighting, AV, and building systems
Troubleshoot and fix technical issues before they become problems
Organize storage and improve our backstage and event facilities
Support external suppliers and technicians when needed
Keep an eye on building equipment and suggest improvements for smoother operations
Be part of a team that ensures our visitors, artists, and partners have a seamless experience
Who We’re Looking For
University or HBO student in a technical direction (engineering, AV, ICT, etc.)
Based within 15–30 minutes of Rotterdam West
Available 1 fixed day per week, plus extra flexible hours for events (including some evenings/weekends)
Hands-on, organized, and solution-driven
Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a small team
Knowledge of electrical systems, and interest in networks/computers
Bonus points for AV skills or a driver’s license
